I only add it to help prevent cavitation pitting, not for any cooling problem. If you have a cooling problem then this would at best be a temporary fix.
In my coaches, I notice hotter water in the heat exchangers (domestic water heater dribbles from the T&P valve, doesn't without water wetter) and hotter air from the heaters, not sure whether I am getting hotter air at the heater/defroster in the Mercedes, but did notice that the heated washer-fluid bottle boils dry fast when using water wetter (presumably from higher heat-transfer heating the fluid more).
