I'd do the trip in a heartbeat.
If you don't have it, get AAA plus. You get four free 100 mile tows.
If you get stuck in the middle of nowhere call for a tow truck,
have him take you 99 miles and drop you off, then call again for
the next tow for the next 99 miles--up to four times for free.
This was a tip from a AAA driver.
Fortunately, I've never had to use that trick, but I have had to be towed
90 miles two different times in our Chevy Tahoe. No extra charge for the tows.
