Folks,
I got my Euro 123 parts car this weekend. I discovered several things that I had not thought of:
If I were to fabricate a relay wiring harness, it would only go to the four prong connector leading to the headlight assembly, which by the way is the same as the US headlights. This would leave a weak link between the four prong on the assembly and the H4 bulb itself.
Someone already had 100W/85 Watt bulbs in place and there doesn't seem to be any degradation to the wiring anywhere. When I put these in my other car, which is also a Euro car, but had US lights when I got it, I will put in 60W/55W bulbs and see how they work. I drove the parts car Saturday night before putting in my shop to begin robbing the engine for my other car, and the lights were amazing, they also have an instrument panel adjustment for elevation, very handy for the kind of country driving I do.
Somewhere in this discussion, I noticed that it changed to discussion of 124 headlights. After I get my 240D back on the road, I'm going to try to find some Euro lights for my 124. Any suggestions or comments are welcome.
Best regards,
Larry
