I just took the steering box off my 81 300SD parts car to put on my 85 300SD. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention to the position of the steering wheel as I ASSUMED that the splines on the shaft were indexed. After I had the box off and cleaned up it appears that this is not the case. Any suggestions on putting the box back on properly, or am I just blind and the splines are actually indexed to the steering arm?
