My recently licensed son is driving my 85 300SD. At first he wasn't thrilled about driving an "old people" car, but he has become somewhat attached to it. He told me that a couple of girls he knows think old Mercedes are really cool! He has been driving the Excursion while I am replacing the steering box and front brakes on the SD and he actually can't wait to get back "his" Mercedes! He knows how to change the oil, tires, and check all the fluid levels as of now, and soon he will have changed out a steering box. He is definitely being initiated into the "there is nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes" club!
