I may have drag raced the 1992 300D 2.5 yesterday... Its time was pretty depressing but the whole track loved it.

Regardless, I noticed that at WOT the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts both happened around like 4,700 rpms. Can these motors rev all the way to 6,000? Are my shift cables out of adjustment.

It ran a 20.8 at something low, then it ran a 19.8 @ 66mph. IIRC the factory 0-60 time was 12.8. 7 seconds to gain 6mph wasn't the case, I have a feeling the 0-60 is pretty slow. My guestimate was around a 17 second quarter mile.

Filters are all new. Car runs fabulously and gets great mpg. I think its the shift points.
