Digital is truly the best, but doggone it, no matter what you purchase in anticipation of taking full advantage of the technology, it CHANGES!!!
My media room is wired for 5.1-channel surround (constructed in 1997), and the newest recievers boast 7.1 channel support!! Who knew!!??
You get Dolby Digital, out comes DTS...you get DTS, then it's THX!!!
I read that one of the vendors in a CEDIA show demo'ed a 10.1-channel system!!!
Maybe I should have had the media room built with false panels all around, so I could upgrade every time someone in the Audio Video Standards Consortium farts!!!
