Hi Guys,

New to the forum, so I will need some guidance on a couple issues. I am in need of the exact bolt pattern dimensions of the intermediate trans adapter plate for an OM617 engine. I am going to put a 700R4 into my 1981 300TD, so I will require the dimensions for both sides of the intermediate plate. Autocad drawings would be great as the plate will be cnc'ed. If you want to know why I'm doing it here it is. I am tired of the "flare" and/or abrupt shifting, but really annoyed by the lack of an overdrive for the highway. My wife and I run the whizz out of this car during the warm months, and plan on taking some major trips. One other thing how do you SAFELY remove the coil springs in the rear? I need them intact so we can get measurements. The hydraulics were removed prior to me owning the car, so I need dimensions to order the right rate to hold up the back of the car correctly. We already put it on digital scales, and the springs are the last piece of the puzzle. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
