Question Is old cell phone setup useable?

Okay, here's a weird question that I just thought of. I hope thi sis the right board to be putting this *lol*

I've got what appears to be a very old car phone setup in my 300D. It includes the antenna (goes through the top of the rear window), an amp (I've been asked numerous times if it was a radio amp), and a plug in the center console that looks almost like the printer end of a PC printer cable. I do NOT have a receiver.

Anyone know how dated this setup is? Is it compatible with anything on the market today?

If I can use it for a fairly low rate, I may look into re-installing a receiver and activating a service, but if it's too outdated to work on any modern system, I'll just pull the stuff out. I don't have a name-brand, although something's probably on the amp (I've never looked closely at it).

Thanks in advance!
