There seems to be a presumption that the government SHOULD always be passing new laws.
Maybe its time to look at the benefits of gridlock.
First off is that small businesses will not have to live in fear of new regulations and new costs. That might free them to actually invest in their small businesses. That would mean hiring new people, reducing unemployment and increased taxes flowing into state and federal coffers.
Maybe citizens would be freed from fears of onerous new regulations impacting their lives.
Maybe taking off a year or two, or five will be helpful to the economy as well as the citizenry.
