As a point of comparison, I bought my 1991 300D from a private party in PA, very nice condition, 77,000 miles, for $4500 in April 2009. I know I got a great deal and would certainly have been willing to pay more.

While people can SAY $9,000 is too much (and it may be), I think the reality is there are people willing to pay a premium for that car with really low mileage in great condition. If I were looking for that particular car and it was the perfect specimen, I would be willing to pay $9,000.

They're FABULOUS cars....can't say enough about them. If they want that kind of money, make sure it's perfect, including working cruise AND an evaporator that's not leaking!
