Craig, sorry to hear about your lack of forward motion so far from home. I remember your last search for and engine. you did pretty well on your original one.

I think Metric builds engines as requested. I have been there a couple of times, they have quite an inventory of blocks, heads, cranks and every concieveable part you can think of.
I don`t remember the time line when I ordered mine, until mike called and said it was ready. I know it was better than a week.

I don`t think most shops have an engine waiting to go.

What do you get with the Adsitco engine? just a bare long block?
With metric, it comes with Glow Plugs, Injectors and Injection Pump rebuilt.

At least you were close to civilation, when I had the funny noises coming from under the hood, we were 40 miles of winnemucca, Nevada. which is 180 miles east of Reno. It was us, the Jack Rabbits, the truckers flying by on I-80 and one old rusty Box Car sitting on a siding out in the Sage Brush.
