I'm a little nervous about adsit, but I can't justify the extra cost, shipping, and time involved in going to metric. We'll see how it works out, at least the tech at the dealer seems to know his stuff.

I didn't see in mentioned but, was an official MB re-manufactured/replacement 617 engine from the fatherland not available or was it decided against because of cost/time or other reasons?
I know someone who a couple years ago stole i.e. found and bought a complete MB replacement engine for $2000 was still mounted on a steel stand in a wooden crate with all the paperwork from MB the way it came over on the ship, the only things it needed where the alternator, compressor, power steering pump, and fan. It came with the turbo, air cleaner and everything, I went with him and picked it up in this giant, old, poorly lit warehouse, when we pried the top of the crate off everything was covered with corrosion retarding vapor paper. We pulled that off and all the cadmium-nickelbb plated lines, clamps, brackets, nuts and bolts looked like gold, we joked that it was like finding a pirates treasure chest!
Got it back to the ranch and removed the rest of the crate and it sat around like that on it’s stand being admired for a couple weeks before installing it, it was almost too pretty to put in the engine compartment!
