Always check fluid level first.

If shift points are off, likely either the bowden cable is mis-adjusted (tighter means later shifts), or the kickdown solenoid is stuck / switch stuck.

If the shifts are too firm, it is a lack of proper vacuum (adjustment or leaks), more vacuum = softer shifts.
