i had a question regarding oil pan capacity. i went to check my records, and found that at my last oil change i poured in about 6.4L of oil, which is a little less than full on the dipstick.

on the other hand, my owners manual claims that the oil capacity is 7.9 US qt (7.5L).

i'm not 100% sure, but i believe that i came across some info claiming that the oil pan capacities were reduced by MB. if this is true, do you happen to know by how much were the oil capacities reduced by? and what vehicles does the oil pan capacity reduction apply to? and what model years?

my guess is that MB reduced the oil pan capacity on my benz by a whole liter.
