I'm about 90% sure my 603 has crimped fittings. Any tractor/bobcat repair shop and a lot of chain auto parts stores will make you a matching hose if you take the old one in to match length and fittings.
CarQuest in particular usually has a sign out front (Not all of them, but most in our part of the country) that reads "We make hydraulic hoses" or something like that.
I think in a high pressure environment I'd trust a crimped fitting. They probably had trouble with w123s blowing them off under pressure periodically and went to a sturdier fitting. That being said, I've never seen the screw-type ones you're talking about so I can't say anything one way or another.
Either way, if it was mine I'd just haul the old hose to Carquest and have them crimp you a new one.
