Does anybody out there know both the om616 w115 engine and the om616 w123 engine very well? I'm working on this (very frustrating) project, putting a '75 240d engine into a '85 Ranger. I'll have to relocate the oil filter because it hits the frame. The peachparts member who made the oil filter relocation plate/kit no longer makes them. My only hope is that I can pull the oil filter lines and oil filter housing from a w123 240d and bolt it up to my w115 om616. As you all know, the oil filter was moved in the w123 and sits by the 4th glow plus and brake boost. There's an 80 something 240d in the yard now, so I might pull what I need this weekend, but I figured I'd ask about it first. I just don't know how the w123 om616 block is plumbed. Appreciate any feedback.
