I have used water to clean carbon deposits in another brand. What I did was feed water under vacuum metered by adjustable valve. I like to use 3-4 quarts of water in 250 miles or so. It does clean things up for certain.
I have a section of clear plastic hose so I can see what is going on and I shut it of when parked as I have to mount the water bottle rather high and I don't want water siphoning in with engine off.
