It depends on what you call expensive? Both Denon and Onkyo make upgradable receivers. They only run about $3500 or so. That is not expensive to me. I own a Denon 5800 and I am going to upgrade (whenver I get aorund to it). The upgrade will allow me to have Dolby Pro 2 (don't really care about that) & THX Ultra 2 Certification (oh yeah baby!!).
