I have a 1980 Mercedes model 250. Gas engine. No catalytic converter.
I need to replace the pipes after the exhaust manifold and before the muffler. The center pipes (dual) have a silencer near the end. What happens if I just replace the pipes, but leave the silencer off? I realize it might be louder, but will it hurt the engine? Thanks
