Oz 300te, yes I had some issues with detonation due to megasquirt settings but they were solved a year ago, also when the bearings were checked they were fine. As to the compression ratio, I prefer higher compression with low boost for a street car since it's a lot more drivable. The 2.5-16v engine had it's compression lowered (8.0:1) and frankly speaking until the boost build up it was a pig. Don't think I'll have any problem with 10:1 and 10 psi of boost, have friends running something similar on BMWs and toyotas with no problems, you just have to go easy on the ignition timing in boost. E85 is very hard to find in my country, I'd venture to say it's almost impossible .

BAD300, gloves off was for the old engine but since I'm not rebuilding it I'll take it easy on the new one :-D .... at least in the begging, but first things first, have to get the engine in the car and sort the clutch and exhaust manifold. For the exhaust manifold I've got an idea that may make the fabrication very easy. Idea is to just turn the 2 stock exhaust headers (if possible), than fabricate 2 secondary pipes that bolt on to them and join at the turbo flange.

P.S. Also isn't Whipplem104 running stock compression in his build ?
