As mentioned, check the ground strap from the engine to the body. It is on the drivers side below the oil filter housing. remove it and check to see there is no rust or other contaminates in the contact area and make sure it is tight.

behind the cluster is another grounding place, the brown wires are the ground wires.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...
