I used to have weekly hours of fun at the local computer gaming hub with college friends. Some would last a few hours, and we had midterms the next morning

I'm not in touch with the new games anymore, but I loved CnC Generals (standard and Zero Hour version), plus the MechWarrior series (2 to 4).
