Twice since 911 the *terrorists* have penetrated the farce that is western airline security. Reid and the underpants dude. Nothing in the obscene western security apparattus was worth a damm in either case. Nothing but pure luck stopped them from succeeding.

To those who wish to pretend theres an equivalency between car crashes and airline terror I'd say you should wake up and smell the roses. You have control over your own destiny when you take to the road, enter a burger joint, whatever. You surrender that control to others when you are forced to fly. In addition to that you are now also forced to endure a mindless, obscenely expensive and demonstratably useless security fiasco in the cause of political correctness. Not only is this seriously inconvenient it's also dangerously stupid given the relevance of air travel to the modern economy. But that's ok, just as long as the "minorities" aren't offended.

If we had worthwhile security most "minorities" woudn't be offended anyway. But that kind of competence seems to be unreachable by choice in the US so I guess we wind up getting what we deserve.
