Do what you have to do.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - cars that don't run are of no use to the owner. Many people have (3+) or more old cars to better the odds of something that will actually start when they need to go someplace.
The carrying cost of owning (3+) old cars in time and money exceeds (1) reliable car/truck. Some college students have numerous old cars that they sink tons of time and money into - when they could be working a partime job for money, and studying more to better themselves now for their future. My Dad wouldn't allow us as teens living at home to own cars for those very reasons.
As an adult I get it loud and clear - you have to be practical, or you are not on your game in life. Old cars don't fit most molds as per time and money. Time is extremely valuable to all of us - especially family men. Time and money spent with virtual "hobby" cars cost you dearly, and cause other areas of your life to diminish. Them's the facts as I see 'em.
That said, anybody interested in buying my old '99 E 300 ETD I will be happy to shoot you a price via PM/telephone only.
