I don't know why California DMV still has the car under my name. I detached the NOTICE OF TRANSFER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY from the pink slip and mailed it to DMV the next day, which would be 10-16-10.

I have a copy of the bill of sale that I typed out but not a copy of the actual NOTICE OF TRANSFER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY.

If the $55 isn't paid by 12/14, then fee jumps up to $110. What happenes if I don't pay it? I do plan to contact the LA Parking office and the DMV, but I doubt things can be resolved before the 12/14 deadline.

I'm guessing and hoping that DMV hasn't gotten around to processing the Transfer notice I sent them.

In hindsight, I should have jotted down the buyer's driver's license # and address as stated on his license.

What if I have to pay for his irresponsibility and inconsideration?
