If you were driving off road I would say the Jeep but I think you would get better gas mileage from the Subaru and it would probably be a little more comfortable on the highway. I have a 1990 Jeep Cherokee and it gets a bit bouncy/jerky on the highway. I do think the Jeep would be easier for DIY projects.
