Some folks say "love it or leave it". That is simply easier said than done. I don't love it and I don't hate it, yet. No other country will just let you willy nilly move there. You need to jump through lots of hoops. I envy the EU citizens because they can live/work anywhere in the EU they please. I wish the "E" in EU stood for Earth and not European. I would like to willy nilly live and work anywhere on the planet I pleased.

Statistically, it is highly likely they exist. Whether the are less advanced and you don't see them or whether the are more advanced and avoid you might be the reason you don't see them.
The question is whether you have valuable skills or not. Valuable is deemed by them. For instance, if you are an RN, you have a special visa that will get you here in 3 months or less, IIRC. OTOH if you are an alky, well........
