There are two brake warning lights on the instrument panel.
The Brake light that is red will illuminate when the float sensors in the reservoir get too low or you engage the parking brake.
The light with a circle and little dashes around it is the brake pad wear light.
Which one of these is illuminating? The pad light will turn on when the pads get low and cause a ground. This is your sign to replace your brake pads before you start getting that wonderful metal on metal sound. It is possible for the wire to go bad too. Simple .95 cent part
