My car has a poor torgue or acceleration speed. Very slaggish. Is it normal for these cars?

I just had the transmission rebuilt, new spark plugs wires distr cap rotor, new weber carbs fuel air filter replaced. Timing set.

What can I do to gain some descent acceleration speed. Like when I press the gas pedal there is not much responds. I dont even know what would happen on going up hill..Maybe roll back?
