I guess that makes it harder to evaluate how you handle money and therefore get pegged as a higher risk.
Consider this. I had a student visa. To get one, you have to prove you have the necessary finances to support you or your backer has to have the money. So, unless something drastic happens, backer dies or something in that line, you have no reason to ask to be allowed to work. When I came out of college, I had employers that said they would have hired me had I the experience. Much like what you are talking about. I had to take crap jobs and work my way up. Same thing here.
