Steve, Yes I think you are right - my alternator is causing this problem. It only manifested itself while we were driving at night and it was raining hard, so all lights, wipers, stereo and A/C were on. The following morning it was ok again probably because I had no lights & wipers on.

I will take it in to the dealer as soon as I get back to the City. Thank you very much for the kind assistance.
