I have a '94 E320 wagon with the stock radio in it. It is a Becker I believe. The tape player sounds muffled. I have tried several times to clean the head as MB recommends but the sound does not improve. Is the magnetic field on the head dead? Also, while looking inside with a flashlight I saw an 'Alpine' chip on the circuit board - what gives?
