I want to thank Scott, aka LutzTD for his offer of assistance with a car, that didn't pan out.
I wanted to buy a Kuebelwagen/Thing body w/o motor from a lady who later raised her price when it got down to brass tacks because her broother-in-law said " Those car are worth more than Mercedes and Rolls, now."

We all know that's not true, but oh well.

I am on the lookout for inexpensive/reasonable body parts for a VW Thing and for a 1600cc engine, aka called a Type 1. I have everything now except seats and a motor. even some spare parts.

My plan is to turn it into a WW2 looking car, I have an extra hood and will wld on a recessed compartment tpo include a sp[are, plus hydraulic lifts for the reinforced hood. All desert beige.

Many of the VW Thing people are in California and want two arms and a leg for VW parts. Someone is either hoarding them or a lot have just worn out/disappeared.

I never expected someone would tell me a VW 1600 cc Beetle engine core would cost 2500 bucks.

So I keep looking.
