See if there is an American National agency in your state. I have never been able to beat their rates and their service is fantastic.

I once had a water leak in my house and they paid $8,000 for the repair because it was covered. A friend of mine wiped out one of my cars on an icy road and they paid above market for after it was declared totaled.

I was with Allstate until I was in a head-on wreck with another driver who had Allstate. I saw him coming and hit the brakes so I was at a standstill and about to reverse when he drove right into me. It was clearly his fault as he was on the wrong side of the street, but since he also had Allstate they told me to file on my insurance, pay my deduct and watch my rates go up. They said if two Allstate owners hit each other this was the way it worked.

So I told them good-bye and started looking around. That was about 25 years ago and so far I see no reason to go back.
