Yeah, I can see wanting a shorter gear for performance. It would be cool to have a 617 spin the tires. It would be one of the very few that did.

In reading all the final drive posts, the consensus is that a 2.88 is as tall as you can go to get better economy. the 2.47 only provides a quieter ride....apparently the fuel econ improvement to final drive relationship is asymptotic and ends at 2.88
