Hi,
I own a 1987 300e and I just had to drill out the ignition cylinder (the ignition was deadlocked) and everything worked just fine UNTIL I tried to put in the new keycylinder.
I can't get the new cylinder in AND if I turn (with a screwdriver) the ignition off the accessory position, nothing happens, the lights in the dashboard remain on even without having a key (or screwdriver) in it!

Furthermore, the keycylinder does not go onto the steeringlockmechanism at the bottom of the keycylinderhousing...and I have it in position 1. I really have no clue what that could be except maybe some electronic mixup, just that I did not touch anything and had the battery unplugged when I was drilling.

Anyone knows what that could be or any idea? And sorry for my imperfect english, I am from Germany...
