Well I don't think the swap hurts the value of that vehicle at all. I think it really helps it. I think there are a couple of things that will make this a no sale. First of all, the seller has a reserve on it. Reserves never help the sale. Number two is the statement with no clarification that it is/was 98% rust free. If that is his opinion he should back it up with facts and pictures. Where was that 2% by his estimate, of rust. His 2 % might well equal our "heck of a rust cover up"! Let us see it and we'll make our own determination. The car looks nice, but I will take the standard paint and trim any day. He indicates a top speed of 90 mph which would indicate he left the 240D rear axle/ratio in it. Good for great performance, poor mileage and a boring noise on the highway. Not difficult to address and change however. I hope to have mine on the road this spring or early summer. Same swap, 617 turbo into a 240D ,in a very beautiful high mileage car.
