There would still be a big demand for truckers, they will just be driving smaller trucks (like you see in Europe!) because not everyone will be located on a rail line, there will be lots of driving from railheads/depots to stores, manufacturers, etc. Just not as many long haul truckers. It's a s**t job that long haul stuff anyways. The truckers may make less but at least have a life!
