400E(also 500E) was released in 1992. It's a very well build car. The acceleration is impressive compare to 300E. 400E got a name changed and facelift in late 1993 as 1994 model. As they got facelifted, the exterior is then mono-tone paitned(pre-1993 has 2 tones), Euro-Type headlights(1-piece), different hood, trunk lid, and smoke taillights.

If you want to go for W124, go for 1992 500E(or early 1993 500E, which has same spec as 1992). But if you strictly gonna stick with E420, then get the facelifted ones....
