This engine has painted stamped steel valve covers.
Also, unless someone removed the Thermactor Air Injection pump and tubing that is found on the 428CJ emissions equipment (shown in the 2nd pic above with the piping/hose going across the top of the distributor), this engine doesn't have it. The 390 uses IMCO emissions that doesn't use air injection.
To make sure the engine is what it is then get the engine ID digits. Engine tag, head, intake and carburetor numbers. Or open the engine up and measure the bore and stroke.
