I've had success with Rubatex Contact Adhesive that I purchased from the local Graingers. It takes heat, etc. and is especially effective in repairing the odd area of existing padding that may have come undone from the metal hood. It survives the heat and does not seem to become brittle. Its ingredients are the usual solvents acetone and toluene and "polychloroprene rubber resin." The 1 pint can comes with a captive brush applicator. I assume Grainger's has warehouses nationaly, if not their web site is

Check item 3F417 on page 3348 of their catalog. Or you can do a search for "contact adhesive" and all the products, including 3M, come up.
