I just bought a new truck last night. I am hoping to sell my 1980 300CD. Here are some of the details.
1. Engine is a rebuilt non-turbo from a 1977 300d. Runs great, burns very little or no oil(maybe 1/2qt in 3000mi driving over mountains), I have put 30k since in last 3 1/2 years with no engine problems except glow plug failure. Previous owner says he put 10k since rebuild.
2. transmission gave me trouble at first, a little experimenting and I had it working real nice for about 2 years, since moving to Palm Springs into the 100+ degree weather and not using car much, seems like it needs tinkering with again. Trans will make a few drips after driving on freeway for several hours, other wise doesn't leak.(as of 12/02 trans is great. New 3 way valve!)
3. 1999 Clk wheels, euro bumpers, new paint(an O.k paint job. looks good but not a factory quality job. Silver with Black leather.
Dash has one very small crack, brand new windshield, Brand new rotors and calipers two years ago. very cool and reliable car. I drive it eveyday and everywhere. Please make an offer. Car is in San Diego. I'm in Tacoma, Wa.
