Well, I think I found the problem. I checked all the engine mounted sensors and found the one at the side (rear) of the head with a twin pair of wires attached too it and it was loose. It was not pressed on all the way. It was a very quick fix for a very annoying problem that just came out of the blue. But the problem seems to be resolved completely.
