Not saying ti doesn't work and I agree try something before dishing out the cash for MB lubricant. I used lithium grease on my SD's sunroof and it had trouble closing within about 6 months, reapplication helped but it was clear the stuff was too thick as it was very slow and inconsistent along the slide rails. I believe OP has updated sunroof design however, so that design seems to be a little easier on the lube.
