Well, I may have found out for myself. I just replaced the blower motor with a URO brand. Now I'm getting a hum at high blower speeds and when I turn it from high to low, it sounds like a bearing screeching for a few seconds as the fan decelerates. It also makes the same noise when turning to the left only. When I turn the fan off, it spools down after a few seconds, which leads me to believe that it's not rubbing against any part of the blower housing because if it was rubbing it would stop immediately.

My options are to pull it out and return it right away, or let it run a few days and see if there is a possibility that the bearings need to wear in. I'm glad this part is fairly easy to get to. Any input?
