check valve is in the aircleaner drain just behind the turbo drain, there are no components to damage in the turbo drain hole
to remove it, push the lower tube all the way down, then you can remove the upper tube. Then just peel out the lower seal and you can pull the tube by hand. No hammer required. I did this several times when I was making the video. Granted my seal was new and still soft. I also noticed the MB factory seal rubber material was much softer than the after market one I bought, that may also be a contributing factor.
