Eggshell or satin "matte" finish is the best choice if you want something that can withstand surface dirt and endure cleaning...even with knock-down texture surfaces.
Although glossier finishes are the best for cleaning, surface imperfections are REALLY visible, like patches that weren't properly sanded or even drywall and plaster sections that aren't perfectly even.
Want to really hide dirt? Go with a satin faux finish!!
