HAMBURG TECHINIC

Well, I had all I could take of the Chinese Uro motor and decided to pack it up and return it. I put the old motor back in after oiling it with machine oil, but I can still hear it squeaking occasionally in the low position and I suspect it is just a matter of time before it completely freezes (probably on that 118 degree day in Arizona).

Does anyone have any experience with Hamburg Technic blower motors? They seem to be about 25% of the cost of an equivalent Behr, but so was the Uro and it turned out to be a disappointment. It's a good thing it only takes me 12 minutes to get the motor out now.

Also, the motor has been replaced once before with a Bosch (not Behr, which I think is factory), but I think the same squirrel cage was re-used. The price differential between a motor sans cage and a motor with cage is significant. Presuming I can find another Bosch or even a Behr motor without the cage, what are the chances I can get a 17-year-old plastic squirrel cage off the old motor shaft without it breaking in the process?

Thanks!
