I believe it. My girlfriend's first car was an '87 Taurus and her second was an '88 Taurus. Both were piles of garbage. The first one thre a rod out the oil pan and seized the engine. The second needed engine mounts something awful; we had heard that catastrophic failure could result, so we sold it for $600...and found out that it was abandoned less than a month later. Good riddance IMHO.

I'm a broke starving college student and I still have a Mercedes.
I'll admit that I pretty much solely bought it for the diesel engine, though...I won't own another g@$$er as long as I can get away with it.
